I am researching stone restoration techniques that have proven successful for the olive green stone originating in the Brinton Quarry, West Chester, Pennsylvannia. The building in question is a church, constructed approximately 120 years ago, and is suffering the effects that prolonged weathering has on this rather soft material. Mineral spirits have been applied to the stone in years past. My interests:
*Is there a current supply for salvaged or newly quarried stone to match? *Has any method for conservation proved successful, over the test of time, on this material? *Are there any recommended sealants or other products to deter the erosion of stone? |
